Overview

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities, providing a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. Our efforts are focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each team member contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Store Manager to create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment and excellent customer relationships in order to motivate staff and meet sales goals.

Responsibilities
  • Create a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Centers Operations manual and all other policies and procedures by all store personnel.
  • Meet sales, production, and expense budget goals to maintain a profitable operation.
  • Ensure that all production is taken from the back room and properly displayed on the sales floor.
  • Receive applications, participate in interviews, and recommend applicants for employment.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of store personnel, identifying performance strengths and areas for development.
  • Conduct monthly staff and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with safety measures.
  • Schedule all sales associates to ensure full coverage in the store at all times.
  • Submit completed payroll information biweekly for all store personnel.
  • Order merchandise to keep the store well stocked, ensuring compliance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
  • Provide training, direction, and supervision for new employees and retrain all personnel as necessary.
  • Ensure proper accounting and banking of cash receipts at the end of each business day.
  • Complete and forward all paperwork and sales reports to the finance department daily.
  • Report site visits and communication from regulatory agencies to the Administrator.
  • Attend manager meetings and keep store personnel informed of new policies and directives.
  • Protect property and buildings, reporting safety hazards and damages.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to beneficiaries assigned to stores for work therapy.
  • Support the work therapy program by providing an example of professional conduct and work habits.
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Administrator.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in sales preferred.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate others.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable DMV record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in any store location under the supervision of this ARC Center.
