Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts is hiring for a Ground Operations Technician / Arborist Trainee in Barton, VT. The role is a full-time, year-round outdoor position with a starting pay of $18–$20 per hour.

Training is provided on-the-job, including CDL preparation, with opportunities for licensing, certifications, and wage increases as you advance. Responsibilities include vegetation removal, pesticide application, and safe operation of forestry equipment, with room to grow into more advanced arborist tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; willingness to learn skilled trade.
• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly and outdoors in all weather.
• Must be able to carry 75 lbs and work at varying heights.

Responsibilities

• Manual vegetation removal in work areas and line clearance.
• Safely operate forestry equipment (skidders, mowers, chainsaws, ATVs).
• Support pruning and tree removals as part of daily duties.
• Participate in on-the-job training and license/certification progression.
