Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking Spring - Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship candidates. You will gain hands-on experience in tree care, plant health care and client services, under the mentorship of experienced staff.

Expect on-site work across residential and commercial sites in San Antonio, TX, with 40-50 work hours per week, Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. The program offers safety training and industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
• Driver’s license required. CDL highly valuable
• Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture
• Love of the outdoors and willingness to learn
• Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually
• Collaboration and communication skills

• Interns will be mentored through a variety of job experiences across divisions, working on residential and commercial properties and in an office setting.

Job Duties

• Learn to be a tree doctor! Introduce career orientated students to exceptional opportunities in the industry including tree care, tree climbing, chainsaw use, plant health care and customer service. Internships in each division may vary in length depending on availability. Interns will be assigned a manager who will mentor them through a variety of job experiences within the industry. Throughout your experience, you will work on residential and commercial properties and in an office setting.

HOURS

• 40-50 hours per week; Monday - Friday with some Saturdays

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license highly valuable
• SALARY:
• Starting at $20.00 hourly
