Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction's Division of Infrastructure is seeking an Arborist Liaison to support the Landscape Architecture & Urban Design team. This role requires a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture, and involves creating and evaluating Tree Inventory Reports, Tree Impact Mitigation Plans, and overseeing related approval processes with NYC Parks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in geology, engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or closely related field with relevant coursework.
• Coursework or experience in geologic field work.
• Licensure or certification as a geologist preferred or required by the agency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in landscape and infrastructure projects by providing geologic input.
• Oversee design and review of reports, plans, and standards related to geological aspects.
• Coordinate with NYC Parks and other agencies on permits, approvals, and site investigations.
• Maintain and update tree/landscape related standards and guidelines as needed.
