Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a Spring–Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship in Houston, TX. Candidates pursuing arboriculture-related degrees will gain field experience in tree care, plant health care, sales and client services, working under a manager for mentorship.

Interns will split time between residential/commercial sites and an office setting, with full-time weekly hours and potential CDL value noted. Safety training and ongoing learning opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license highly valuable
• SALARY: Starting at $20.00 hourly
• EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture, love of the outdoors, positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree doctor and explore opportunities in tree care, tree climbing, chainsaw use, plant health care and customer service.
• Internships in each division may vary in length; interns will be mentored by a manager through various experiences.
• Work on residential and commercial properties and in an office setting.
• Hours: 40-50 hours per week; Monday - Friday with some Saturdays.
