Bartlett Tree Experts is hiring an Arborist Ground Person in Virginia. You will join a tree care crew and gain practical field experience in scientific tree and shrub care on residential and commercial properties.

This entry-level role offers hands-on, on-the-job training in pruning, rigging, cabling, and equipment operation. We emphasize a safety-first culture, opportunities for advancement, and training resources through Bartlett's Research Laboratories.

Competenze

• Willing to learn on-the-job and safely perform all arboriculture tasks.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Degree in Arboriculture or related field is preferred but not required.

Mansioni

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture.
• Pruning trees and rigging work as part of the ground crew.
• Cabling and bracing, removal of hazardous trees as needed.
• Maintaining and operating hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Assisting Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.

As an Arborist Ground Person, you will play an important role in

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning trees
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required
