Bartlett Tree Experts in Beaufort, SC is seeking an Arborist Ground Person for an entry-level, full-time role. You will learn practical arboriculture skills on commercial and residential properties, under the guidance of experienced arborists, with emphasis on safety and professional development.

You will gain hands-on experience in pruning, rigging, cabling, and equipment operation, while following safety rules and team protocols. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn and participate within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Valid driver’s license; degree in related fields preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn on-the-job to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including: pruning trees, rigging, cabling and bracing, removal of hazardous trees.
• Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Implementing work zone safety procedures and adhering to safety policies.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft; assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking duties.

Qualifications

• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required
