Bartlett Tree Experts is seeking an Arborist Ground Person to join a professional outdoor team in a hands-on training environment. You will learn to perform pruning, rigging, cabling, removal of hazards, and equipment operation on residential and commercial properties.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within Bartlett’s safety-first culture, with opportunities to advance as you gain experience and credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have a passion for nature, outdoors.
• Willingness to learn and work in a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn on-the-job to safely perform arboriculture tasks: pruning, rigging, cabling/bracing, removal of hazardous trees, operating hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and lifts.
• Follow safety rules and company safety policies.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft; assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.

Responsibilities

As an Arborist Ground Person, you will play an important role in:

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including:
  • Pruning trees
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies

Qualifications

• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year‑round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi‑disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required
