Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in West Chester, PA, is seeking an Arborist Climber Trainee to join a professional tree-care crew. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on training in climbing, pruning, rigging, cabling, and safe equipment use on commercial and residential properties.

You will learn safety rules, customer‑facing service, and the fundamentals of tree care while working year‑round in all weather conditions, with opportunities for advancement and industry credential support.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Interest in outdoor work year‑round in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn and work in a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn through on‑the‑job training to safely perform arboriculture tasks such as tree climbing, pruning, rigging, cabling and bracing.
• Assist with removal of hazardous trees, tree identification, and equipment operation (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Help implement work zone safety procedures and support Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Participate in driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties as needed.
• Adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies while developing passion for nature and outdoor work.

• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, turf care, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or a related field is preferred but not required
