Bartlett Tree Experts in South Egremont, MA, is hiring an Arborist Climber Trainee to join a professional tree-care crew. This entry-level role offers hands-on field training and development in scientific tree and shrub care for commercial and residential properties.

You will gain practical experience alongside Bartlett's arborists, with a strong emphasis on safety and a culture of learning and career development.

Qualifications

• Passion for nature, the environment and outdoors.
• Willingness to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Positive attitude and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team.
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, turf care, or horticulture experience preferred but not required.
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn on-the-job to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including tree climbing, pruning, rigging, cabling and bracing.
• Remove hazardous trees and identify tree species.
• Maintain and operate equipment: hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Implement work zone safety procedures.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
• Adhere to safety rules and company safety policies.

• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
