Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts is seeking an Arborist Climber to join a professional tree care crew in Springfield, VA. The role emphasizes tree climbing, ground duties, and assisting Crew Leaders with pruning, removals, and cabling.

The position requires up-to-date safety practices, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of climbing and aerial lift experience. Training and advancement opportunities are offered within a culture that values safety and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• At least one year of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Valid driver's license; Class B CDL preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of job assignments under the Arborist Crew Leader.
• Safely perform all aspects of arboriculture: tree identification, risk assessments, pruning, removals, cabling and bracing, root collar excavations.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Learn and adhere to all safety rules and company policies.

As an Arborist Climber, you will play an important role in

• Performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by the Arborist Crew Leader
• Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including
• Tree identification
• Tree risk assessments
• Pruning
• Removals
• Cabling and bracing
• Root collar excavations
• Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least one (1) year of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift operation experience in the tree care industry
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
