Job summary

Meta Reality Labs Research invites interns to join a world-class team working on the future of AR/VR audio. You will perform basic and applied research on perception and speech intelligibility, aiming to advance spatial audio and hearing assistance technologies.

Ideal candidates have a PhD focus or progress in Hearing Science, Neuroscience, or Signal Processing, plus hands-on experience in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++.

Qualifications

• PhD candidates or in progression in Hearing Science, Neuroscience, Signal Processing or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or equivalent programming language.
• 1+ years of experience in statistics and/or machine learning at the doctoral level.
• 1+ years of experience in binaural rendering, spatial hearing, or signal processing.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• Experience in real-time audio and audio algorithms development.
• Proven track record of significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at relevant journals or conferences.
• Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
• Intent to return to a degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op

Responsibilities

• Basic and applied research on perception and speech intelligibility, with a goal of solving problems in spatial audio and/or hearing assistance.
• Communication of research agenda, progress, and full analyses of results.
• Design and implementation of novel algorithms to solve audio research problems.
• Experimental design, implementation, and execution to evaluate new audio technologies.
• Collaboration with other researchers across audio and acoustic engineering disciplines.
