Job summary

Transition Home Healthcare and Pathways Hospice is seeking an AR & Billing Specialist to ensure accurate billing, accounts receivable management, and timely documentation across EMR systems. This onsite role in Houston requires strong communication, billing experience in home health or hospice, and knowledge of payor contracts.

You will interact with patients, families, payors, and referral sources while maintaining confidentiality and compliance across revenue-cycle processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of billing/AR experience in home health or hospice.
• Knowledge of different insurance/HMO plans and ability to research issues.
• Proficient in MS Office and related office software.
• Experience with HCHB EMR is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reimbursement through efficient billing and collections operations.
• Update billing and patient accounts in EMR systems accurately and timely.
• Work aged accounts receivable and resubmit bills as needed.
• Gather and report key billing information to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements and payor contracts.
• Protect patient and organization confidentiality in billing operations.
