Job summary

City of McKinney seeks an energetic aquatic professional to safeguard patrons and support the McKinney Swim School programs. You will lifeguard, assist with supervision, schedules, and lesson delivery on deck, and help with evaluations and class organization.

You’ll collaborate with Pool Managers and other staff to maintain safety, deliver high-quality swim instruction, and ensure customer service excellence during public swim, lessons, and special events.

Qualifications

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training with CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• Must hold or be able to obtain Lifeguard Instructor certification upon employment.
• Must have Water Safety Instructor certification or ability to obtain on employment.
• One season of lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor experience with ability to teach all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of aquatic team members, customers, and patrons.
• Assist Pool Manager with supervision of staff and daily goals.
• Open/close the facility, complete cash reports, and report anomalies.
• Assist with McKinney Swim School program including assessments and class organization.
• Lifeguard and teach swimming lessons as needed.
• Promote public relations and adhere to city policies.
