Upper Valley Aquatics Center seeks an Aquatics Personal Trainer to blend fitness with swimming, building relationships with members through client-centered sessions in our pools.
You will educate, train, and motivate members for 1-to-1 and small group sessions, greet members professionally, and administer wellness screenings, exercise programming, and equipment orientation while maintaining safety and order.

Job Summary: The Aquatics Personal Trainer is a unique role which will combine the Upper Valley Aquatics Center's passion for fitness with it's passion for swimming. In this position, trainers will create and deepen relationships with members by offering client-centered sessions in our pools. The Aquatics Personal Trainer will add value to their client's membership and enhance their sense of belonging to the club. This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing aquatics based workout programs and instructing them on proper use.
Pay Range: $24-$38.48 per class
Min $24 Mid $31.24 Max $38.48 per class
Required Skills/Abilities:
Education and Experience:
Certification by a nationally recognized accredited certification body (IHRSA approved).
Minimum of 1 year of training experience, preferred.
Must have AED and CPR certification or obtain it within 3 months of being hired
Basic computer skills, required (Word, Excel, Emails, Google)
Physical and Schedule Requirements:
New trainers will start with a predetermined amount of floor hours, arranged by the Fitness Director. These hours will be used for observing, shadowing, and learning.
During the initial 90 days, leading up to the 90 day review, these hours will drop with the expectation that the time has been filled with personal training clients, small group training, group exercise classes, and/or scheduled fitness administrative time that is assigned on a first come/first served basis.
Each trainer is assigned a level when hired-
Bronze
Nationally certified with the most recent exercise techniques and protocols and may have experience as a wellness coach, group fitness instructor, college related work or previous employment in a health related field. UVAC’s Fitness Team is recruited based on their skills, knowledge, and experience as well as for their passion and devotion for helping individuals and groups achieve specific goals.
Silver
All competencies of Bronze Level. Trainers at this level are more experienced and may hold advanced certification or college degrees in the related health sciences. These trainers are able to support most conditions and issues. Staff at this level may go on to become distinguished experts in their field and may already be studying for additional certifications and degrees.
Gold
Distinguished experts in the fields of management, health, fitness and/or sports. They have exemplary skills and credentials that help establish the standards for our personal training department as well as train and develop the personal training staff. Gold Level staff are our most experienced nationally certified trainers and may hold advanced certifications/ degrees as well as have had ample experience with clients who have diverse abilities.
