Job summary

Penn State Campus Recreation is hiring Lifeguards to help operate and oversee aquatics facilities on the University Park campus. You will work in a team to safeguard patrons, perform surveillance, and assist in daily tasks to maintain a safe environment.

Required certifications include American Red Cross Lifeguard and Penn State Bloodborne Pathogens training, plus background checks. Positions offer flexible shifts with mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Qualifications

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required.
• Penn State Bloodborne Pathogens training is required.
• Criminal background checks (PA State Police), PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Check are required.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to ensure patron safety through surveillance and preventive lifeguarding.
• Maintain a clean and safe aquatics center by performing assigned cleaning duties as needed.
• Attend trainings and meetings and communicate with supervisory staff; manage diversities and emergencies professionally.
