Job summary

Life Time, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking an Aquatics Lifeguard who is safety minded and customer service oriented. You will monitor pools, assist with events, and help ensure a welcoming, secure environment for members.

Responsibilities include greeting members, rescuing swimmers in danger, administering first aid, keeping the pool area clean, and enforcing safe swim practices. Required: progress toward HS diploma or GED, StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR and First Aid, ability to swim

Qualifications

• Working toward High School Diploma or GED.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certification (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first)
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping.
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute.
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping.
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs.

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as “Dive in Movies” & “Poolapalooza.”

• Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members

Position Requirements

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• StarGuardElite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge toStarGuardwhen current certification expires or within 1styear, whichever is first)
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• 6 months of customer service experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $16.00 and pays up to $19.00, based on experience and qualifications.
