Job summary

JCC Denver is seeking an Aquatics Instructor to provide quality American Red Cross swim instruction for all ages and abilities at Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center in Denver. The role requires teaching all levels, ensuring safety, communicating with families, and maintaining class schedules.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Teach all levels of swim instruction under American Red Cross standards.
  • Communicate with parents about appropriate class enrollment levels.
  • Maintain familiarity with registration processes and class schedules.
  • Provide communication with the reception desk about classes and programming.
  • Prepare certificates and awards on completion.
  • Ensure swimmer safety by enforcing pool rules and preventative measures.
  • Respond to emergencies quickly in water or deck areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of all aquatic information and programs.
  • Present a professional appearance and attire.
  • Report to work on time.
  • Keep the aquatic area safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center - Denver, CO 80246, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $25.00 - $36.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Swing, JCC Denver is a vibrant community hub dedicated to connecting, building relationships, and enhancing our members' overall health and well-being. We offer high-quality programming for all ages, including fitness, wellness, aquatics, childcare, summer camps, and much more. We are seeking an Aquatics Instructor to join our team. The Aquatics Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction for all levels of American Red Cross swim lessons to participants of all ages and abilities.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Effectively teach all levels of swim instruction under American Red Cross standards, possessing full knowledge of the skills at each level.
  • Effectively communicate with parents about the appropriate class enrollment level for all children.
  • Maintain familiarity with the registration process and current class schedules.
  • Provide ongoing, effective communication regarding all classes and programming with the reception desk.
  • Prepare award certificates, patches, and cards upon course completion.
  • Ensure the safety of all swimmers by implementing preventative measures and minimizing hazardous situations.
  • Enforce all pool rules and regulations in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Provide a quick response to emergency situations in the water/deck area.
  • Be knowledgeable about all aquatic information and programming.
  • Display a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform.
  • Be timely and punctual when reporting to work.
  • Ensure the aquatic area is safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
