YMCA OF GREATER KALAMAZOO is seeking an Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor for our Portage location. You will lead group water exercise classes, ensuring a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment that aligns with our wellness mission.

The role supports members through energetic instruction, relationship building, and staying current with wellness trends. Evening and weekend availability is required to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED/First Aid – must obtain within first 60 days of employment
• Experience in leading or participating in group water wellness programs
• Experience teaching or leading groups
• Experience instructing group water fitness classes preferred

Responsibilities

• Leads group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.
• Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Keep accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency.
