Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is hiring an Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor to lead water fitness classes for members of all ages and abilities. You will ensure safety, stay updated on center notices, and maintain pool cleanliness while fostering an inclusive environment.

The role requires at least one year of teaching experience, 18+ years of age, and current First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of hire; training is provided. Join a community-focused team at our facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Minimum one year teaching experience.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED within 30 days (training provided).
• Ability to relate and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead and teach high-quality water exercise classes for members of all abilities.
• Stay current with center announcements and information.
• Maintain safety in all classes by following YMCA guidelines and pool procedures.
• Report injuries or unsafe conditions promptly using proper procedures.
• Keep knowledge of training and certifications up to date.
• Maintain a safe and clean pool environment.
• Track water fitness participant numbers.
• Update all certifications as required.

• Responsible for staying current with the center announcements and information.


• Maintain safety in all classes by following YMCA and national certification guidelines, and know the pool area and building emergency procedures thoroughly.


• Report injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, needed repairs, or complaints to the appropriate staff immediately, following YMCA injury/accident reporting procedures.


• Keep current with knowledge of all areas of training and certifications.


• Maintain a safe and clean pool environment.


• Track water fitness participant numbers.


• Responsible for updating all certifications.
