Job summary

Columbia Association is seeking a swim coach to support our year-round program in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will be available for all scheduled practices and meets and will complete USA Swimming training as required.

The starting pay rate for this position is $21.00 an hour. Previous coaching experience and strong communication with swimmers and parents are highly valued, with a focus on safety and fun in a competitive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in swimming/coaching is required or desired.
• Confident communication with swimmers and parents.
• Ability to develop productive practice plans that are safe and fun while promoting competition.

• Lead and coach swimmers during scheduled practices and meets.
• Develop and implement practice plans to improve skills and safety.

The Columbia Association Aquatics Department is looking for candidates who are able to be available for all scheduled practices and meets for our year-round swim program. Applicants will be required to complete various training to qualify under USA Swimming. Previous experience in swimming/coaching is desired, as well as confident communication skills for dealing with both swimmers and parents. We expect our coaches to enjoy children and to be able to develop productive practice plans that enhance the swimmers' skills while still creating a safe and fun atmosphere in which to be competitive.

The starting pay rate for this position is $21.00 an hour.
