Job summary

Life Time is seeking an Aquatics Assistant Swim Team Coach to support the head coach in running workouts at our state-of-the-art pools. You will help swimmers improve technique and register new participants, while maintaining a clean, safe aquatics environment.

You’ll lead group workouts, work with guests, and promote Life Time products and programs. A lifeguard certification and swim proficiency are required, with ongoing Education requirements to fulfill.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of swim coaching experience.
• ASCA and USA Swimming memberships required.
• Complete Life Time Swim Instructor Certification.
• Communicate effectively with guests in a fast-paced club.
• Must be able to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Lift up to 20 lbs and perform duties during long shifts.
• Lifeguard certification current or within 60 days of hire.

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Assistant Swim Team Coach, you must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will help our Swim Team members improve their swimming in our state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoors and out. You will work with the Head Swim Team Coach to write and head Swim Team Group Workouts. You will help the Head Swim Team Coach register new participants for the Team and maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Offers competitive swimmers the opportunity to master technique
• Runs daily practices under the direction of the head coach
• Promotes all Life Time products, services and programs

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Years of Experience:
• 1 year of swim coaching experience
• Member of ASCA
• Member of USA Swimming
• Successfully complete and pass Life Time Swim Instructor Certification
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
• Lifeguard certification to StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.
• Lifeguard Certification within 60 days of hire
• Must complete all job specific requirements with Life Time Education.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCA Level 1 Certification or higher
