Job summary

Hamilton College in Clinton, NY is seeking an Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach to support the Head Coach across recruitment, programming, and student-athlete development. You will teach techniques, monitor academic progress, manage budgets, travel logistics, and ensure compliance with NCAA/NESCAC and college rules.

The role includes teaching Physical Education classes as part of Hamilton's undergraduate curriculum.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an appropriate area of specialization.
Experience coaching and/or playing at the intercollegiate level is required.
A Master's Degree is preferred.
Evening and weekend work is necessary.
Candidate must have a valid active driver's license.
A successful background check is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Teach fundamentals of the sport during meetings, practices and games.
Instruct enrolled students in physical education classrooms.
Devise and implement athletic strategies for the team.
Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress.
Identify, evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes.
Assist with program budget and expenditures for equipment and supplies.
Coordinate team meals with dining vendor to meet nutritional needs.
Collaborate with Sports Medicine on injury prevention and rehab.
Schedule practice sessions in compliance with NCAA/NESCAC rules.
Plan team travel and manage related expenses with Athletic Business Office.
Maintain alumni relations and coordinate communications with boosters and parents.
Promote the Athletics Department through events and marketing.
Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference rules and college policies.
