Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Coordinator II, Aquatics & Adventures to manage day-to-day operations of facilities and programs within University Recreation & Wellness Aquatics and Adventure. The role covers Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center, South Village Pool, Waterfront, equipment rentals, and adventure trips, with oversight of staff and risk management.

Responsibilities include scheduling, program development, data analysis, policy implementation, and training.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor's degree or 6 years of related full-time experience with two years in related functions.
• Experience in aquatic, waterfront, outdoor recreation, or related programming.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must possess or obtain Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid within three months.
• Florida Boater's Safety Education or ability to obtain within three months.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the daily operation of assigned facilities, programs, and services.
• Develops, plans, and implements events, programs, clinics, courses, rentals, trips, and activities.
• Manages staff schedules and onsite supervision for programs and events.
• Oversees aquatic and adventure programs including swim lessons and trips.
• Maintains safety, cleanliness, and functionality of facilities and equipment.
• Analyzes data to assess usage, participation, and performance; prepares reports.
• Assists with policy development, procedures, and training materials.
• Recruits, hires, schedules, and evaluates student employees; conducts trainings.
• Monitors budgets, purchases, inventories, and equipment replacement.
• Supports risk management and emergency procedures; provides safety training.
