Job summary

The South Carolina Aquarium is seeking a Horticulturist in Charleston, SC. The role develops, implements, and manages horticultural projects across internal and external exhibits and off-site nursery operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily plant displays, propagation, and record-keeping, while coordinating with the Curator and volunteers. A bachelor’s in horticulture or botany and at least three years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany or related field.
• Minimum of three years' experience in a related field.
• Valid Driver's License and SC pesticide license (or ability to acquire).

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and manages horticultural projects including internal and external exhibits and nursery.
• Oversee daily care and aesthetics of plant displays and plant culture activities.
• Maintain records and reports of horticultural operations.
• Develop and maintain off-exhibit plant propagation areas and nursery.
• Supervise horticulture volunteers and interns; coordinate with Curator.
