The position requires SCUBA certification, a High School diploma, and related education. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and complete dives as part of daily duties, with a focus on safety and protocol adherence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• SCUBA certification: Open Water diver or equivalent.
• College coursework in Marine Biology, Zoology, Ocean Sciences, etc.
• Previous aquarium experience helpful.
• Must have a valid driver0s license for the applicable state.
• Must pass SCUBA physical and drug usage test prior to employment.
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs safely.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain animal enrichment programs as determined by the Curator Manager.
• Develop public presentations for hotel guests and the public on an ongoing or as-needed basis.
• Maintain food supplies and inventory for the Curator department.
• Anticipate physical stores and nutritional needs of animals in care.
• Develop food preparation protocols and SOPs with the department manager.
• Coordinate with manager to ensure uniform enrichment program protocols across Aquarists.
