Job summary

Power Wellness seeks an Aqua Instructor for its LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center, offering part-time hours. You will lead group aqua classes, tailor activity to varying fitness levels, and ensure safety and enjoyment for participants.

Provide a welcoming experience, maintain certifications, and adapt to center hours. A CPR/AED certificate is required within 90 days of hire, with training provided by Power Wellness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
• A group exercise instructor certification preferred (NCCA accredited preferred).
• Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as scheduled, providing modifications for varying fitness levels.
• Teach within standard guidelines of specialty certifications.
• Understand contraindicated exercises and provide a safe and effective approach to exercise.
• Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education requirements.
• Ensure arrival time allows for proper set up and that class ends on time and area is cleaned up.
• Demonstrate accountability to schedule and arrange substitutes when needed.
• Provide a fun and engaging experience for participants.
• Be flexible regarding center hours and work schedules.
• Meet all safety requirements and certifications needed to perform duties.
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and communicate confidently with EMS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Teach classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels.

• 8. The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours and work schedules.
• 9. Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
• 10. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.

Qualifications:
