Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a Water Exercise Specialty Instructor to develop and teach safe, rewarding group water exercise classes at multiple facilities in Bend, OR. The role involves planning curricula, delivering tailored workouts, and collaborating with the fitness team.

Responsibilities include leading classes, overseeing safety, guiding participants of varying ages and abilities, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework or vocations training in related field preferred; AND
• Two (2) years of professional level experience in the area; OR
• Any satisfactory combination of experience and training.
• Some teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs assigned classes, programs and activities.
• Plans, organizes and implements curriculum based on program objectives.
• Creates and delivers personal training programs based on client goals and assists individuals in developing modifications.
• Oversees safety and progress of participants.
• Develops rapport with participants and responds to questions and concerns.
• Collaborates with Fitness Program staff to plan and schedule classes and sessions.
• Maintains records and forms; adheres to safety and cleanliness standards.
• Handles emergencies and customer service issues professionally.
