Aqua Fitness Instructor – Part‑Time

Salary: $24.15 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule

• BUCK Recreation Center – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 9:00 am – 10:00 am; Saturdays 8:00 am – 9:00 am (open to substitutions).
• GOODSON Recreation Center – permanent instructor Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm; substitute instructor Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 am – 9:30 am.
• GOODSON Recreation Center – permanent instructor Tuesdays 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm; substitute instructor Tuesdays 8:15 am – 9:15 am and Thursdays 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

Responsibilities

Our Fitness Instructors design, implement, and lead safe, effective, and enjoyable group fitness classes to recreation center participants of various fitness levels.

Ideal Candidate

• Has prior experience in the instruction of a specific specialty.
• First Aid certification is preferred.
• Has an understanding and knowledge of exercise science, nutrition, and wellness to promote fitness and educate participants.
• Possesses strong communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with employees and the public.
• Has knowledge of the principles and practices of fitness programming.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Graduation from high school or completion of GED.
• Current Group Fitness Certification from an accepted national certifying organization, maintained through Continuing Education Credits (CECs).
• Possession of current CPR/AED certification.
