Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Addiction Services & Ambulatory Program (ASAP) 0.75 FTE | Three 10-Hour Shifts per Week Join Our Team The University of New Mexico Hospital's Addiction Services and Ambulatory Program (ASAP) is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner preferred) to provide high-quality outpatient care to adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in recovery while working alongside an interdisciplinary team committed to evidence-based addiction treatment and patient-centered care. Position Summary The Advanced Practice Provider will deliver comprehensive addiction and behavioral health services for adult patients in an outpatient clinic and walk-in care setting. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, managing medications, providing follow-up care, and coordinating services that support recovery and long-term wellness Schedule 0.75 FTE Three (3) 10-hour shifts per week Day shift schedule No call responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Perform comprehensive psychiatric and substance use evaluations for adult patients Diagnose and treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions Provide medication management, including medications for addiction treatment (MAT) Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the care team Monitor treatment progress and adjust care plans as clinically indicated Coordinate care with therapists, case managers, social workers, primary care providers, and community resources Document patient encounters in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Position Summary:
Function as an advanced practice nurse in Behavioral Health in the roles of consultant, educator, practitioner and researcher. Prescribe and distribute drugs and controlled substances. Develop and implement patient care based on research and national practice standards designed to improve patient outcomes in specialized areas. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
