Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. You will collaborate with perinatologists and physicians to deliver high-quality care in alignment with organizational standards.

The ideal candidate has an Ohio RN license, CNM certification, COA, and prescriber credentials (CTP/CTP-E), with BLS and DEA licensure. Primarily day shift with on-call hours in a busy practice.

Qualifications

• Masters required in Science, Nursing or specialty field.
• Graduate of Advanced Practitioner Program.
• Current RN license in Ohio; Certified as Advance Practice Nurse Midwife; COA from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Current Certificate to Prescribe (CTP) or eligible for certificate to prescribe externship(CTP-E) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• BLS provider certification
• DEA license

Responsibilities

• Provide care in ambulatory settings and inpatient obstetrical care including labor, delivery, episiotomy management and minor complications.
• Works in collaboration with perinatologists, OB/GYN and Family Practice physicians using organizational standards.
• Primarily Day shift with scheduled on-call hours.

Nurse Midwife

Position Purpose:

The Nurse Midwife will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotion, social and spiritual needs. The Nurse Midwife, functioning in the spirit of team work, is accountable for the delivery of advanced practice nursing care, in collaboration with the perinatologists, OB/GYN and Family Practice physicians, utilizing standards, protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization. Provides primary care in an ambulatory setting to women including the ordering of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications. Provides inpatient obstetrical care for essentially healthy women including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of lacerations/episiotomy and management of minor complications.

What we are looking for:

Education: Masters required in Science, Nursing or specialty field. Graduate of Advanced Practitioner Program.

• Current License as RN in Ohio. Certified as Advance Practice Nurse Midwife. Holds current Certificate of Authority (COA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Hold current certificate to prescribe (CTP) or eligible for certificate to prescribe externship(CTP-E) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• BLS provider certification

*This position will work both clinic and hospital. Primarily Day shift with scheduled on-call hours.
