Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing with NP certification.
  • RN license in the practicing state.
  • Certificate of Authority and collaborative practice agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care under a designated physician through a collaborative practice agreement.
  • Assess patients, order/interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans.
  • Develop comprehensive care plans and educate patients and families.
  • Coordinate clinical care and promote multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Demonstrate respect, empathy, and professionalism with patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care and treatment to patients under the auspices of a designated physician through a collaborative practice agreement.
  • Engage in patient assessment, initiation and evaluation of diagnostic testing, documentation of physical findings, and formulation of treatment plan and prognosis based on patient’s medical condition.
  • In accordance with established collaborative practice agreement and evidence-based guidelines, obtain health histories, perform physical examinations, identify problems, establish goals, and formulate comprehensive plans of care for patients and teach preventive health measures.
  • Functions as a facilitator to coordinate clinical care, educate patients and families, and support collaboration between various disciplines and agencies as necessary.
  • Must demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Education, Credentials, Licenses

Master’s degree in nursing with National Nurse Practitioner Certification in appropriate specialty area. (Nurse Practitioner by a national certifying organization recognized by the Board of Nursing in the state where work is being performed (including the following areas: Acute Care, Adult, Adult Psych Mental Health, Child/Adolescent Psych Mental Health, Community Health, Critical Care, Family, Family Psych Mental Health, Gerontological, Medical/Surgery, Neonatal, Oncology, Pediatric, School, and/or Women’s Health) Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as an RN in the state where work is being performed Requires Certificate of Authority and Standard Care Arrangement with collaborating physician to practice as a nurse practitioner. Must have medical staff privileges as an allied health professional.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Specialized Knowledge

Demonstrated skills and knowledge as a Nurse Practitioner in area of expertise.

Kind and Length of Experience

5 years of experience as a registered nurse. EP APRN experience is preferred.
