Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking candidates for an Assistant Station Meter and Relay Technician apprenticeship-style role in Portland, OR. Training spans eight quarters with hands-on and bookwork, advancing to Journeyman upon completion.

Relocation to training sites is required, followed by a permanent position at a local location. Responsibilities include installing and testing high-voltage equipment, using test gear and computers, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with electrical theory knowledge.
• Completion of required training or apprenticeship for meter/relay trade.
• Valid driver's license and ability to relocate for training.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, repair and replace protection and control equipment in substations.
• Use computers and test gear to communicate with equipment.
• Document maintenance and commissioning tests with records.
• Perform substation switching and grounding as needed.
• Lift heavy objects over 50 pounds and handle tools responsibly.
• Follow safety rules and company PPE requirements.
