Job summary

In Charge Electric is seeking an Apprentice Residential Electrician to join the Custom Homes team in San Antonio. You will learn wiring new homes and assist on service calls, gaining hands-on experience with homeowners in a dynamic, growth‑oriented culture.

You will train under experienced electricians, progress through on‑the‑job instruction, and develop core electrical skills while supporting ongoing residential projects and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid US Driver's License in good standing.
• TDLR Apprentice Electrician License required.
• Own and maintain required tools for work.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment drug, criminal, and driving screen.
• Must provide work authorization documents upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical work aligns with plans and code.
• Consult with customers to determine repair needs.
• Read blueprints and architectural drawings for wiring locations.
• Install and troubleshoot lighting, switches, circuits, panels, and outlets.
• Replace faulty wires or components and verify safe operation.
• Perform periodic inspections to identify electrical hazards or defects.

Job Description: As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll learn the foundational pieces of performing electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance. You’ll receive training on how to wire new homes as well as assist on service calls, allowing you experience in interacting with homeowners. This role offers on the job, hands on training, empowering you to build a lasting career in the electrical field.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all electric is installed per plan and code
• Ask questions to determine severity of electrical problem
• Choose an array of tools and materials according to the repair work that needs to be done
• Confer with customers to determine their electrical repair needs
• Read and interpret blueprints and cabinet details to insure correct location of electrical
• Follow architectural drawings to determine installation of wiring systems
• Replace faulty wires and parts and ensure that the new ones are in proper working order
• Install a variety of electrical system components such as lighting, switches, circuits, panels and outlets
• Identify hazards or defects in electrical systems by performing periodic inspections

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Valid US Driver's License with clean driving history
• Must meet our company and insurance requirements to operate company vehicles
• Current TDLR Apprentice Electrician License
• Possess and maintain required tools
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
• Must be able to provide work authorization documents upon hire
• High school diploma or the equivalent
