Job summary

Kotz Heating and Air is seeking an Apprentice Plumber in Waterford, MI. This role involves residential plumbing service, installations, and repairs under supervision of a journeyman or master plumber.

You will work with a range of fixtures and equipment, learning to diagnose issues and present options to customers. We offer employer-sponsored training and industry certifications, with ambitious growth potential and competitive hourly pay including spiffs.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ experience in residential plumbing or equivalent education.
• Customer service and clear communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential plumbing service and replacement installations.
• Work with journeyman or master plumber on jobs.
• Maintain, service, repair and install plumbing fixtures and equipment.
• Use plumbing snakes, augers, drills, saws, levels and screwdrivers.
• Explain service, repair and replacement options to customers.

Apprentice Plumber | $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, including spiffs

Work hours: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm | Monday through Friday | occasional overtime

Job Duties:

• Residential plumbing, both service and replacement installations
• Working with a journeyman or master plumber
• Work involves performance of maintaining, servicing, repairing, and new installations of a variety of plumbing fixtures and equipment
• Utilizing tools of the trades such as snakes, augers, drills, saws, hammers, measuring tape, levels and screwdrivers
• Consulting with customers about service, repair and replacement options
• Working in all types of weather

Qualifications:

• 6 months + experience in residential plumbing, or combination of education and experience
• Valid plumber's apprenticeship card, or acquire once employed
• Some experience using tools of the trade including but not limited to plumbing snakes, augers, drills, saws, hammers, measuring tape, levels and screwdrivers.
• Customer service skills and clear communication
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment.
