Job summary

LensCrafters in Mentor, OH is seeking an Apprentice Optician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience, assist customers with frame and lens choices, and ensure precise measurements and fittings. You will learn optical theory, operate the POS and AccuFit fittings, and uphold LensCrafters’ standards while guiding guests through one-hour processing and timely pickups.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program.
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder.
• Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Sales and service skills.
• Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators.
• Embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Conveys a commitment to providing unsurpassed Customer Service by performing the key steps of our Sales and Service Process: Greeting the Customer, Explaining the Process, Merchandise Selection, Fitting - AccuFit, Solve visual problems, Tendering, Dispensing.
• Serves as a center of excellence for others with a focus on Right the First Time and modeling our service and selling model.
• Assists customer in selecting frames and lenses suited for vision, lifestyle and budget; suggests improvements and solutions to problems; assists other associates with complex needs.
• Anticipates problems, explores causes, and develops long-term solutions to improve customer satisfaction.
• Educates customers on LensCrafters guarantees and services including Eyewear Protection Plan and care tips.
• Operates the Point of Sale accurately inputting customer and prescription info; handles payments securely.
• Explains One Hour processing and delivery times; directs customers to pickup location.
