Sun Recruiting, Inc. seeks an Industrial Millwright – Apprentice in Skokie, IL. Work alongside a seasoned mentor in a climate‑controlled tool room to learn dies, punches, and production tooling with hands‑on training.

You will operate manual machines, read drawings, perform repairs, fabricate components, and assist with setup and changeovers. A high school diploma or GED is required; strong mechanical aptitude and genuine eagerness to learn a trade are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training a strong plus.
• Hands-on lathe/mill experience preferred.
• Blueprint reading is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and refurbish dies, punches, and tooling under mentorship.
• Fabricate replacement components using manual machines.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, drill presses.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Apply hands-on judgment for legacy tooling without prints.
• Use precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges.
• Support tooling setup, alignment, and adjustments to maintain quality.
• Assist production during changeovers, setups, and startups.
• Maintain tooling inventory and records.
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
