JG Pears Newark is offering an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer position providing hands-on experience in mechanical and process engineering. You will be mentored by experienced engineers while building problem-solving and teamwork skills, with access to ongoing professional development.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Working as part of a small team to carry out:
Proactive/planned mechanical maintenance
Fault finding/reactive breakdown mechanical repairs
Mechanical projects and outage works
The apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in the Engineering Fitter Level 3
The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor and identified a site mentor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course
This is a Day Release programme, which means you will attend College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours

GCSE in: English and Maths (grade A*/9 – C/4) - Essential

Will need to have own transport; a power plant producing steam and electricity from animal by-products; strict health and safety.
Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm. The site shuts down for full maintenance, and during these periods, weekends and overtime will be worked. Overtime is paid at 1.25.
Salary: £16,640 to £26,436.80, depending on your age National Minimum Wage Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab) Company-paid training options to gain your forklift license (age-appropriate). Bonus after 6-month probation
