Apprentice Machinist

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications for a full-time Apprentice Machinist to join our Tooling Group. We seek individuals eager to do precision work, learn a high-demand skill, and grow professionally within our employee-owned company.

Responsibilities:

  • Read prints & job orders to determine dimensions and machine setup
  • Set up and operate machining equipment such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, and surface grinders to meet specifications
  • Calculate and adjust controls or input commands for computerized machines
  • Verify finished work using precision measuring tools
  • Attend on-site apprenticeship classes alongside on-the-job training
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong math and mechanical skills/aptitude
  • Desire and ability to perform precision work
  • Experience with lathes, mills, or surface grinders is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and measurement tools is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work shifts, lift up to 40 lbs., and stand for 8-10 hours daily
