Job summary

Regal Rexnord's Couplings Division in Auburn, AL is seeking a Machinist Apprentice for a part-time, onsite role averaging 20-30 hours weekly. You will rotate through production cells to gain exposure to different programming software, product lines, and materials, under direct supervision.

You will assist with setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC and manual machines, read engineering prints, and perform routine inspections.

Qualifications

• Post high school with emphasis on industrial trades, mechanical and electrical.
• Lift equipment and analytical test equipment experience.
• Skills using precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures.
• High school math and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe and shadow experienced Machinist to gain knowledge and improve skills.
• Operates CNC machines according to exact tolerances specified on engineering prints.
• Sets up and operates manual lathes, saws, cutting tools, slotting tools to meet exact tolerances on engineering prints.
• Performs routine inspections and minor maintenance.
• Ability to work in a state of constant alertness.
• Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers.
• Ability to have regular and predictable attendance.

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

The Couplings Division of the Industrial Powertrain Solutions Segment is seeking a Machinist Apprentice in Auburn, AL. This is a part time role and will typically work 20-30 hours, with flexibility around class schedule.

The ideal candidate will typically work in an 8-11 week rotation through various production cells to allow exposure of different programming software, product lines, and/or material. Under direct supervision, assists with the setup, operation, and adjustment of conventional or automatic machines such as Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines. Works from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment. Reads CNC programs. Work is routine and machining is performed to ordinary tolerances. Requires basic knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining processes.
