Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking an Apprentice Lineman in training to join a line construction crew and gain hands-on experience toward becoming a Journeyman Lineman. The program lasts about three years, starting on unenergized circuits and progressing to energized work with supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pass the EEI CAST Test.
• Complete and pass a 3-day evaluation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Work in a line construction or maintenance crew as an Apprentice Lineman for up to three years.
• Advance to Journeyman Lineman through apprentice curriculum.
• Perform duties under supervision and then independently as skills are demonstrated.
• Work on energized circuits up to 480 volts with safety supervision.
• Follow safety rules and cooperate with team and public.
