Job summary

Carriage Services is hiring an Apprentice Funeral Director. You will meet with client families to arrange personalized memorial services and ensure compliant documentation, while participating in regular services and training.

On-call duties and collaboration with staff are integral to the role in the Baker Stevens Parramore Funeral Home. The position requires licensing or eligibility, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to engage in community outreach to grow market share.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate from an accredited Mortuary Science Program and has passed the National Board Exam.
• Valid Funeral Director/Embalmer License or ability to obtain license in the state of employment.
• Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to participate in growing market share through community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Meets with client families to listen and arrange personalized memorial services.
• Ensures all files and paperwork are timely and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Conducts and attends services regularly.
• Understands and implements company training.
• Works on-call/first call, as needed.
• Utilizes systems to review merchandise options, enter contracts and complete forms.
• Directs employees to ensure professional service.
• Uses corporate support appropriately.
• Maintains open client files and participates in community events.

Compensation: $18 per hour (adjusted based on experience)
