Job summary

SAWS is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to assist with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining high and low voltage electrical systems, and to work on wiring up to 13,000 volts in a utility setting.

The role requires a Texas Apprentice Electrician's License, a valid Class C driver’s license, and at least one year of electrical experience. You must read blueprints, follow NEC codes, and perform preventive maintenance while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience assisting electrical work.
• Texas Apprentice Electrician's License required.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License required.
• Ability to report to work on time and maintain attendance.
• Normal color vision; ability to perform physical testing.
• Willingness to work various shifts including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosing, repairing, installing and maintaining high and low voltage systems.
• Read blueprints and schematics; follow NEC/NFPA/OSHA codes.
• Operate lift equipment and telecommunication systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and manage tools and inventory.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and effective communication.
