Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks an Apprentice Electrician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems. You will work under supervision, handling cables, conduits, transformers, and safety protocols while learning wiring and fault-finding skills.

The role demands physical stamina, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to work in outdoor environments. No prior experience required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL preferred but not required.
  • Must pass background, MVR, pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
  • No prior experience required; background in electrical work or construction is an advantage.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical distribution and transmission systems.
  • Pull cables, splice wires, and install conduits and other components.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and other equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and use PPE; adhere to minimum approach distances.
  • Learn basic wiring techniques, terminations, and grounding procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and test for proper voltage and continuity.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles; document work performed.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisor and team; participate in training.
