Job summary

Area Energy & Electric is seeking an Electrician Apprentice in Ohio. This entry-level role offers hands-on work with skilled tradesmen to install, test, and service electrical systems across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sites.

Training for the apprentice will be provided. The position includes excellent wages, shift premiums, vacation and holiday pay, health and disability insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan, and a comprehensive safety program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; eager to learn and able to perform manual labor.
• Current driver’s license; insurable with no major infractions.
• Understand hazards and safety practices around high voltage equipment and moving machinery.

Responsibilities

• Install power supply wiring and conduit.
• Troubleshoot electrical components.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems.
• Test continuity and safety of circuits using testing devices.
• Ensure code compliance of electrical installations.

Job Summary:

Entry level position.

Work with skilled tradesmen to install new and service existing electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations. Training for apprentice will be provided.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Installing power supply wiring and conduit
• Troubleshooting electrical components
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems
• Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Ensuring code compliance of electrical installations

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent studies
• High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, eager to learn and able to perform manual labor
• Current driver’s license, and insurable with no major infractions
• Understand the hazards and safety practices involved in working around high voltage equipment and moving machinery
