Job summary

Premier Service Company, Inc. in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking an Apprentice who will shadow a Journeyman for two to three years before taking the journeyman exam.

The role involves assisting with installation and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and/or Utilities in residential or commercial settings. We encourage enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program with Skilled Trades of West Alabama; strong candidates have construction experience, HS diploma, and be able to pass background checks and drug

Qualifications

• Jumpstart and related programs through Skilled Trades of West Alabama or affiliated programs.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of required criminal and motor vehicle record background checks.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.
• Prior construction experience and knowledge of the trade preferred.

Position Overview

The Apprentice will shadow a Journeyman or licensed professional for a duration of two to three years before becoming eligible to take the journeyman exam. In this role, the Apprentice will assist the Journeyman with the installation and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and/or Utilities in Residential or Commercial settings. Apprentices are also strongly encouraged to enroll in the Apprenticeship Program at Skilled Trades of West Alabama.

Preferred Qualifications

Jumpstart Program Graduate from Skilled Trades of West Alabama or affiliated programs

• Construction experience
• Knowledge of your preferred trade
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
