The apprenticeship path leads to a Caterpillar technician career and offers diverse equipment exposure, shift options, and potential overtime. Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software required in position; able to complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs performed; Must prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner
• Must be able to read and understand operating manuals
• Must be able to occasionally operate heavy equipment
• Must be self-directed, organized, able to interact with coworkers, and work as an integral part of a team
• Must have excellent driving record
• Must be able to work all shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer needs

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment problems.
• Perform repairs, recondition and service heavy equipment and components.
• Train and develop you for a Caterpillar technician career path.
• Complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
• Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards.
