The Apprentice Building Engineer role at The Howard Hughes Communities supports mechanical operations and energy management across our properties. You will participate in preventive maintenance, safety procedures, and budget-related tasks to uphold our standards.
Required are a high school diploma and 0-5 years in a commercial office setting, with HVAC knowledge and safety awareness. EPA certification is a plus; on-site work is expected in The Woodlands, TX.

The Apprentice Building Engineer will participate in all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, and energy management programs for all properties. All efforts should reinforce the quality standards, operating objectives and goals established by Howard Hughes Management Services.
Actively participate in Energy Management, Preventive Maintenance Program, departmental plan execution, emergency response procedures, and central plant operations and maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance.
Assist in the development and management of the annual departmental budget, coordinate vendor and base building file maintenance, and ensure the proper operation and condition of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems across properties.
Oversee life safety systems, building systems testing, completion of punch lists, response to tenant requests, and general safety procedures, including required safety training and compliance with applicable authorities having jurisdiction.
