Job summary

Alarm New England is seeking an apprentice to join our team and learn to install, service and troubleshoot alarm, access control, fire, and video systems under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience with wireless systems and IP networking, complete required trainings, and develop professional skills while supporting customers. We offer a path to CT/MA licensure through state apprenticeship programs and comprehensive on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed technician, learn to install, service and troubleshoot alarm systems, access control systems, fire systems, video surveillance systems and programming of systems.
• Learn and become proficient in the installation of wireless systems.
• Follow Alarm New England standards.
• Develop and apply knowledge of IP & Networking; attend training programs as required.
• Provide excellent customer service while supporting customers with system functionality.
• Maintain truck inventory and knowledge of parts and descriptions.
• Present a professional appearance and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Perform work assignments safely; report unsafe conditions and use PPE.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.
• Coordinate apprenticeship registration with CT and MA state programs to become licensed Low Voltage technician.
