Job summary

Lykos Energy, LLC is seeking a full-time field laborer to support craft workers on construction sites in Giddings, Texas. The role involves safety compliance, earth leveling, concrete finishing, equipment signaling, and basic electrical tasks.

Occasional travel to various sites is required. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma/GED and up to 12 months of related construction experience, with the ability to read safety documentation and follow precise procedures.

Qualifications

• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Perform basic arithmetic (add/subtract; multiply/divide with tens/hundreds) in field tasks.
• Understanding of Basic Electrical Systems.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and adhere to set standards.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Complete all required safety documentation.
• Signal operators to facilitate equipment alignment and movement.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications.
• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using appropriate tools.
• Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other parts.
• Apply caulking to seal crevices.
• Grind or finish concrete/steel surfaces with abrasives.
• Use hand/tools for bolting, mounting, and dismantling forms.
• Travel to different jobsites as needed.
• Perform substation labor on construction sites.

Responsible for assisting with other craft workers in physical labor on jobsites while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
• Complete all required Safety documentation
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and
• adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pull
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovel or other hand tool
• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed
• Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal parts
• Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices
• Grind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or
• machines
• Perform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torquing/tensioning bolts and
• studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber,
• dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of
• jackhammers, etc.
• May be required to install electrical conduit and grounding as well as pull wire through conduit and make wire connections on substation equipment
• Perform care and maintenance of assigned tools
• Perform substation labor on construction sites
• May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice
• Other duties as assigned

Education And Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and zero to twelve months of related experience in construction

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be
• affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for
• working toward Safety principles
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to
• perform these operations using units, weight measurement and volume
• Understanding of Basic Electrical Systems
• Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
• Be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and
